Partnerships

The Anza-Borrego Foundation’s two major partners are the Colorado Desert District of the California Department of Parks and Recreation and the Wildlife Health Center at the University of California at Davis.
Through the Anza-Borrego Institute these partnerships extend the conservation, education, interpretation, and research capabilities of California State Parks in the six park units of the Colorado Desert District and the surrounding ecological region.

The California State Department of Parks & Recreation includes 352 different units including, recreational areas, reserves, beaches, and historic parks, as well as vehicular recreation areas -- well over 1.3 million acres. After public schools and colleges, State Parks is California’s widest-reaching educational provider.

WHC is a multidisciplinary program within the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis that focuses on the health of free-ranging and captive terrestrial and aquatic wild animals. It is the umbrella organization under which faculty, staff, students, and other partners come together to address the complex issues surrounding conservation in a changing world.

LTA, the national organization of land trusts, provides specialized services, publications, information, and training for land trusts and other land conservation organizations and promotes public policies that advance land conservation. ABF’s Board of Trustees has adopted the LTA’s Standards and Practices as guiding practices for its land acquisition activity.
