The education programs of Anza-Borrego Foundation were launched more than a decade ago in an effort to connect the public with science happening in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Every year, there are discoveries made at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park that have scientific significance through the world. ABF brings these discoveries to you through a variety of programs.
Programs and Classes
During the season, ABF offers programs throughout Anza-Borrego Desert State Park on topics such as geology, archaeology, paleontology or astronomy. Each half-day or all-day class is taught by a highly-educated instructor. Learn more about our programs and classes.
Through our partnership with UC Irvine’s Steele/Burnand Anza-Borrego Desert Research Center ABF convenes a research symposium each November to showcase the latest in scientific discoveries, found right here in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Learn more about our symposia.
Because all ecosystems are inter-connected, ABF also offers multi-day trips to explore other parts of the United States and the world and how they are connected to the Anza-Borrego Desert region. Learn more about our mult-day trips.
Even though more than one million people visit Anza-Borrego Desert State Park each year, there are still many more who do not yet know how special this region truly is. ABF seeks to introduce people to the wonders of the Anza-Borrego Desert through in-Park programs such as Mike's Hikes, Hikes & Hops, Bikes & Brews, and Spring Plant Walks. All in-Park outreach events can be found on the Event Calendar.
ABF also attends and organizes outreach events throughout southern California with other organizations such as the Sierra Club, Adventure 16, Balboa Park and many more. These events can be found on the Events Calendar.
