Their life in this remote desert place is the subject of this feature-length documentary by filmmaker John McDonald. Seating is first-come, first-served.

How are we doing?

Deserts are extreme places—mostly they are hot, dry and hostile, yet they can also be unbearably cold and windy. Our understanding of the desert, one of the most fascinating ecosystems on earth, is often rough and unclear. Learn about deserts' challenges, their changing environments, and the deep causes of their remarkable heterogeneity. Dr. Ezcurra will discuss the evolutionary roots of the unique biological diversity in the desert, the co-evolution between deserts and humans and the threats that deserts face as large-scale environmental change progresses. Book signing to follow.
